Privacy notice

How Lensare Limited collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Last updated 18 October 2026.

Who we are

Lensare Limited, a New Zealand company based in Christchurch. We're responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at mark@lensare.com.

What we collect

  • Details you give us, such as your name, email address and country when you join the waitlist, and anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
  • Optional details, such as why you're interested in Lensare (which may tell us about a health condition), your role, and whether you're happy to hear about research. You don't have to give these.
  • Information about how you use this site, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location from your IP address. Our website host and analytics tools collect this, partly through cookies.

How we use it

  • To keep you updated about Lensare, including availability, news, product updates, trials and ways to get involved.
  • To tell you about research studies you may be eligible for, only if you've said yes. Any study will have its own information sheet and consent process.
  • To reply to your messages and enquiries.
  • To understand who is interested in Lensare, and to plan our products, research and business.
  • To run, secure and improve this website.
  • For other purposes directly related to these, or where the law requires or allows it.

We don't sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

  • Our team and contractors who need it for the purposes above.
  • Service providers who help us run this site, store data, send emails and manage contacts, such as Wix and Google. They may store information outside New Zealand, including in the United States and Europe.
  • Research partners, only with your consent.
  • Investors, funders and partners, only as combined figures that don't identify you, such as how many people have joined the waitlist from each country.
  • A buyer or successor if Lensare's business is sold or restructured, who must protect it in the same way.
  • Anyone we're required by law to share it with.

Health information

If you tell us about a health condition, we use it only to understand who Lensare could help and to plan our research and products. We keep it confidential and won't share it in a way that identifies you without your permission.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technology from Wix so that it works properly and so we can see how it's used. Pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and images and video from Wix, so those services receive your device's IP address. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need it for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it. We delete or anonymise information we no longer need.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Young people

If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before signing up or sending us your details.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe using the link in any email, or by emailing us.
  • Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, under the Privacy Act 2020.
  • If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including to object to or restrict how we use your information, to take a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
  • If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
